Men’s breakfast Tuesday

An ecumenical Christian men’s breakfast fellowship is held from 7 to 8 a.m. each second Tuesday, the location rotating between several local churches.

Next breakfast will be held on July 10 in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church. The event incudes breakfast, a short devotion and fellowship.

All men of the Rockdale area are invited.

Calvary Baptist cleanup

Volunteers are needed to help clean up and/or remove trees knocked down or damaged at Calvary Baptist Church during recent thunderstorms.

Friendship Baptist VBS

MILANO—Friendship Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School on July 9-13, pastor Delmar McCracken announced. Each day’s VBS will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

This year’s theme is “Club VBS: SpaceQuest.” Children ages three through grade six are invited.

Pleasant Retreat VBS

THORNDALE— Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church will hold Vacation Bible School July 12- 13, spokesperson Linda Grimm announced.

This year’s theme is, “Operation Overboard: Dare to go deep with God”. VBS will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days for children ages 5-11.

To get to Pleasant Retreat UMC, go south on FM 486 in Thorndale for 7.5 miles. Take a left on CR 458. The church is at the top of the hill on the right.

Milano UMC VBS

MILANO—Vacation Bible School will be held at the Milano United Methodist Church, 410 West Ave. D, from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday, July 23 to July 25.

Kids 5-13 years old are welcome to attend.

New Hope to honor pastor

New Hope Missionar y Baptist Church, 327 E. Third Street, will celebrate Pastor Rodrick D. Jackson Sr.’s 20th year of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 8.

Milano FBC youth camp

MILANO—Fund-raisers have been set by Milano First Baptist Church to help defer costs for youth church camp.

A bake sale and car wash is set from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7 at the Edward Jones parking lot, 715 W. Cameron Ave. in Rockdale.

The youth will also sell sausage wraps.

On Friday, July 13, the youth group will hold another bake sale starting at noon at the Cameron Auction Barn.

St. John’s VBS Aug. 6-8

Vacation Bible School, with the theme “Operation Overboard,” will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6- 8 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, a joint VBS with Peace Lutheran Church.

RSBC women’s study

Aglow to meet July 12

Rockdale Aglow Neighborhood Lighthouse group will meet on Thursday, July 12 at the Rockdale General Store meeting room, according to Sabrina Thompson, spokesperson.

Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the guest speakers Keith and Nancy Norman of Unshackled Ministeries to begin at 7 p.m.

The Normans’ outreach youth and adult prisons, churches, rehabilitation/ transitional houses, youth groups, as well as Keith’s own carpentry business.

Unshackled Ministries, International has ministered and helped build orphanages in India, Africa and Nicaragua.
