Metamphaine arrest made

An investigation by the sheriff department’s special investigations unit, has led to the drug arrest of a 29- year-old Rockdale man.

Christopher Aaron Crum was arrested at his home in the 700 block of Hunter Street by SIU Investigator Mike Clore, assisted by Ofc.. Steven Cooper of the Rockdale Police Department on Sunday.

Chief Deputy Chris White said Crum was charged with possession of a controlled substance (1 to 4 grams) out-of-county warrant/ failure to identify fugitive with intent to give false information

(Temple Police Department warrant).

He remains in custody in lieu of $12,500 bond.

Clore said the arrest ended a two-month investigation into narcotics activity and resulted in the recovery of over three grams of “ice”—methamphetamines—and just under two ounces of marijuana.

“After receiving complaints of possible drug trafficking, Investigator Clore placed the residence under surveillance and, during the investigation, confirmed the complaints,” White said. “With assistance from Rockdale Police, contact was made which led to the discovery of the narcotics and marijuana.”


Crum Crum CALLS—In other calls during the past week, the sheriff’s department investigated a fireworks call to FM 908 near Rockdale and a theft on County Road 233 on Wednesday, July 4.

A phone scam was reported on County Road 355 in the Milano area on Thursday.

An identify theft was reported near Rockdale on Friday.

Deputies investigated a call to a burglary on Circle Drive in the Gause area on Saturday.

Sunday calls included an animal nuisance on CR 326 in the Rockdale area and a disturbance on FM 2095.

The sheriff’’s department also answered 23 calls to livestock on Milam County roadways,

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
