Shoplifting call nets drug arrest

A shoplifting call to Brookshire Bros. just after noon July 3 resulted in drug charges being filed against a 21-year-old Rockdale woman.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said Cindi Ann Parker was charged with possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram) after “traces of methamphetamine” were found by Constable Herbie Vaughan’s drug dog.

She was released after posting $4,000 bond. Newlin said a citation for misdemeanor theft was also issued.

ARRESTS— Dusty Dawn Evans-Morin, 37, of Rockdale, was charged with credit carddebit card abuse and was released after posting $6,000 bond.

Terry Joseph Sider, 57, of Rockdale, was arrested on a Travis County warrant for retaliation/ verbal threat.

Jeffrey Scott Kuenstler, 25, of Rockdale was charged with several offenses connected with a Sunday choking incident, according to Newlin.

Kuenstler was charged with assault of a family member/ impeding breath or circulation, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/bond surrender, criminal trespass/bond surrender and assault causes bodily injury/bond surrender.

He remains in the county jail in lieu of $16,000 bond.

ACCIDENT—Police investigated one traffic crash. Vehicles operated by Nicholas Young and Cassidy Herring, both of Rockdale, were in collision at 6:37 p.m. Saturday in the One-Stop Center parking lot.

SERVICE CALLS—Rockdale police answered 181 calls for service and 116 calls were received over the 911 system.
