Services for Wilma “Deannie” Caudle, 74, were held Friday, July 6, 2012, in Phillips & Luckey Funeral Chapel with Pastor Don Falke officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Retreat Cemetery near Thorndale.

Mrs. Caudle died Sunday, July 1, in Houston.

She was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Taylor to Wilmer F. and Blanche (Beard) Kruemcke.

Mrs. Caudle was raised in Thorndale and Cameron and was a graduate of Cameron Yoe High School.

She lived in Houston and the Pasadena area for 35 years and the last 20 years in Pineland.

Mrs. Caudle was a Registered Nurse. She received her training at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston.

She worked at Ben Taub Hospital, Deaton Hospital in Galena Park and the Houston V.A. Hospital.

Mrs. Caudle served as the summer c amp nurse at 4-H Camp in Brow nwood for the past 15 years and she was nurse for senior camp as well. She was active in nursing until the day she died, 55 years.

She married K.D. Caudle on Nov. 17, 1956, in Cameron.

Mrs. Caudle was a member of First Baptist Church in Pineland and was active in the Susan G. Coleman Breast Cancer Foundation

She enjoyed sewing, quilting and being a homemaker.

Mrs. Caudle was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Miranda Nicole.

Survivors include her husband, K.D. Caudle of Pineland; two sons, Kenneth and Delores Caudle of Rockport, Kerry Caudle of Pineland; two daughters, Sherry Caudle of La Porte, Kimberly and Kelly Mason of Houston; five grandchildren, Derrick and Amanda Mason, Kurt Mason, all of Houston, Kevin Caudle of Brownwood, Matthew Shell of La Porte, Samantha Shell of Porter; and two great-grandchildren, Toby Mason and Misty Mason.

Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Derrick Mason, Kurt Mason, Kevin Caudle, Matthew Shell and Samantha Shell.
