Sheriff race will (finally) end Tuesday
Early voting turnout 668 in first two days
Milam County voters will pick a sheriff on Tuesday.
In fact, they’re already doing it. Early voting for the Republican Primary runoff election, pitting incumbent David Greene and challenger Greg Kouba, has been heavy. It ends Friday at four locations around the county. Full Story
Murder indictment returned
Rockdale man accused of girlfriend’s shotgun slaying May 6th
CAMERON—A 46-year-old Rockdale man was indicted for murder Thursday by a Milam County Grand Jury.
Stephen Lenard Daniell was indicted in connection with the May 6 shotgun slaying of 49-year-old Sheila Owens in her driveway at 804 North Wilcox.
Murder is a first-degree felony and in punishable by a sentence of up to 99 years. Full Story
