VBS next week at Gause Baptist Church

A reminder that Vacation

Bible School will be held at the Gause Baptist Church from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 10. A meal will be served each evening near 8 o’clock. Parents are invited to join their children. All youngsters of the community are encouraged to attend the five days of activities at the Gause Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Eugene and Elaine Baumann spent the weekend in Yorktown with daughter and family, Kim and Chad Hahn, Macey and Braden. They went especially at this time to help Braden celebrate his sixth birthday with a big party.

Darlene Anglen went to Houston on Saturday for the 50th birthday party honoring nephew Freddy Velez. Freddy is Joan and Billy Gene Shaw’s son-in-law.

Natalie and Bryce Rasco of Bryan are the parents of a son, Grayson Thomas, who was born in Bryan on Wednesday, July 25. Paternal grandparents are Sherri and James Rasco of Hearne and maternal grandparents are Joyce and Casey Thomas of Kansas. Paternal great grandparents are Wanda and Al Coats of Gause and Joyce and Aamon Bailey of Hearne. Paternal great-great grandmother is Mildred Ely of Gause. The new arrival weighed seven pounds, 10 ounces at birth. Congratulations to the Rascos.

Wanda and Alfred Coats were in Franklin last Thursday to watch grandson Kane Coats play baseball. Then on Saturday Alfred went to Bryan and watched him play.

By the time this is read it will be August and the time for the 2012-13 school year is quickly drawing near. Some students I’ve heard say they are ready and some not. The summer has really gone by in a hurry, but that is what happens when you are having fun. Enjoy the rest of your time off teachers and students.
