Thursday ‘Teen Night’ set at Fair Park pavilion

A “Teen Night” is set for Thursday, Aug. 9, at Fair Park pavilion featuring the popular Texas Unlimited Band (TUB).

The dance will run from 8 p.m. to midnight with an admission of $10 per person. Door prizes will also be handed out.

Thorndale Ag Boosters announce winners

Thorndale 4H/FFA Booster Club announced the winners for August in their monthly Gun Chance Drawing, according to Rebecca Garcia, spokesperson.

Winners were Jay Vath, Pat Kelm, Preston Debalt and Steven Zuehlke.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 3.

“The Thorndale 4H/FFA Booster Club would like to thank the community for always supporting our youth,” said Garcia.

Milam Go Texan to host scholarship fund-raiser

To continue its goal of improving scholarship awards for 2013 and beyond, the Milam County Area Go Texan Committee will host a fund-raiser on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the K-C Hall in Rockdale.

“In return for your support of only $125, you will be offered a chance to win one of the three top prizes of $7,500, $2,500 or $1,000, a dinner for two, four complimentary drink tickets and an evening of dancing and good times to ‘Ricky Calmbach and Texas Standard Time’,” ambassador Jennifer Hanke said.
