Clean out your closets and pile up your no longer needed items. The Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce City-Wide Garage sale is fast approaching. Rockdale and Thorndale are combining for a giant garage sale on Saturday, Sept. 8. Call your sale in to Jeni Anders at 512-898-2973 to have your address listed and receive a yard marker to advertise your sale.

Join the TACC in clearing out that stuff that is driving you crazy and start the fall off with extra cash and extra room in your closets.

MEETING—Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce met in their regular meeting on Aug. 22 at the TACC building in downtown Thorndale. The minutes and financial report were approved as presented. Committee reports included updates on several new businesses in town, including Cowboy Ref lections furniture manufacturing and Mercedes Benz Taco House. Both are up and running and doing well. Susan Drabek also reported on the items of discussion at the recent Thorndale City Council meeting.

STREET DANCE—Two other events are scheduled by the TACC and were discussed in new business. One you need to mark your calendars for is the TACC sponsored Street Dance set for Friday, Sept. 28, following the football game. Downtown Thorndale will be fenced off and set up for an old-fashioned street dance. Tickets will soon be on sale for $10 in advance and $12 at the gate. Join us for a good time in a small town.

TRADIN’ TRAIL—The other event is the El Camino Real de los Tejas “Tradin’ on the Trail” extravaganza on Oct. 26-27 which will include 32 miles of arts and crafts booths, garage sales and whatever you-want-to-sell booths. The Thorndale City Park, Rockdale Park, Cameron Park and Apache Pass will be the main attractions but any businesses can request a spot on the map.

On Oct. 27 at 3 p.m., Apache Pass will host a giant auction sale for any items left over from the day that vendors want to include in the auction. Join us in this inaugural event designed to encourage travel along the El Camino Real in Milam County and bring visitors to the county who will support our local businesses. Susan Drabek at 512-269-8796 is the TACC contact person for reserving your booth in Thorndale.
