CAMERON—Funeral services for Emmie Louise Archer, 94, of Cameron will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Maroney and Rev. Carl Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Marek- Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.

Mrs. Archer died Sunday, Aug. 26, in a Cameron nursing center.

She was born Nov. 6, 1917, in Tanglewood to Judge Emmit and Clarence Eola (Gay) Curlee.

She was a graduate of Rockdale High School.

She married Bennie L. Archer on Sept. 10, 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1974.

Mrs. Archer worked with her husband in their electrical contractor business and also worked in the home health care field.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cameron.

Mrs. Archer was also preceded in death by seven siblings.

Survivors include a daughter, Anita Wallace of Cameron, and a sister, Jean Hart of Lexington.
