Four draw terms in 20th District Court action

Four persons were sentenced in 20th District Court of Milam County during the past week, according to Prosecutor Kerry Spears.

She listed case dispositions for the period Aug. 27-31 as follows:

• Reginald Markeith Sanders, 25, Cameron, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), unlawful possession of firearm by a felon and burglary of a habitation, three, concurrent, five-year prison terms, plus $140 restitution.

• Tammy Lynn Phillips, 35, Thorndale, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), two-year state jail term, probated five years, with standard conditions of community supervision, including successful completion of Concho Valley Court Residential Treatment Center, $140 restitution.

• Lisa Louise Rivers, 34, Rockdale, pleaded guilty to a lesser included offense of Class A misdemeanor assault, one-day county jail term, $500 fine, $217 court costs.

• David Lee Gunnels, 30, Milano, entered an open plea to the court in a charge of delivery of marijuana (one-fourth ounce to five pounds) in a drug free-zone. Judge John Youngblood placed Gunnels on 10 years deferred adjudication probation and ordered him to pay $140 restitution.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
