POLICE REPORT

Garage sale profits missing from home

It was a very good day that quickly turned into a very mad one for a Main Street resident.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said one of the Rockdale residents sponsoring a garage sale had placed the day’s profits, about $800 in cash, in a zip-up bag at the conclusion of the sale.

“It was gone when they went to look for it,” Newlin said. “A search of the residence failed to turn up the money.”

Saturday was the annual citywide garage sale day in Rockdale and Thorndale with 76 sales in Rockdale and an additional 10 in Thorndale. (See page 1B).
