Police cruser strikes hog during Tuesday patrol

Rockdale Police Ofc. Brandon Tess escaped injury late Tuesday when his patrol car was in collision with a dead feral hog near Coffield Regional Airport.

Lt J. D. Newlin said the incident occurred about 11:30 p.m.

“He had just secured the airport, at the US 77-FM 908 intersection, and was on his way back to town when he struck the hog,” Newlin said. “It was probably hit by an 18-wheeler on the highway.”

Newlin said there was virtually no damage to the patrol car.
