Online solicitation arrests continue

Two more men, the third and fourth in the past two weeks, have been arrested as the result of an online “sting” by Cameron police.

Ebodio Manuel Dubarte, 21, of Buckholts was arrested Saturday and charged with online solicitation of a minor/sexual conduct, sexual assault of a child and unlawful transfer of certain weapons. He remains in custody in lieu of $63,000 bond.

Derek Tremayne David, 19, of Rockdale, was charged with onlne solicitation of a minor/ sexual conduct. He was released afrter posting $15,000 bond.

Cameron Police Chief Randy Dixon said police conductd a sting on online social media solicitation of a minor, targeting indivduals attempting to have sex with someone they believe to be 15.

SEX ASSAULT—In a separate incident, Cameron police arrested Bernard Rayford Smith, 48, of Cameron on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child, victim under age 14.

He is being held without bond.
