Emergency drill held at KC Hall for Friday event
Rockdale area residents who lined up to get flu shots at the KC Hall on Friday, the first of several clinics offered by the county health department, probably didn’t realize they were helping ward off a “disaster.”

Deferred adjudication in drug case
CAMERON—A 19 -year- old Comfort man received a deferred adjudication sentence last week in 20th District Court on a drug case, according to Prosecutor Kerry Spears.
She said Adam Lee Johnson pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram) and was placed on three years deferred adjudication probation. Full Story
BURIED—Part of the problem for emergency crews at this Thursday afternoon one-vehicle wreck was finding the pickup, which ran off a roadway into deep overgrowth. The accident was reported at 4:04 p.m. on Beverly Drive in far south Rockdale across from the City of Rockdale Wastewater Plant. Full Story
Door-to-door questioners legit as city seeks $275,000 grant
If someone comes to your door saying they are taking a survey for the City of Rockdale and needs some information about your family income, it’s true.
The city is trying to earn a $275,000 Texas Community Development Block Grant and the doorto door survey is part of the application process. Full Story

No injuries in US 79 wreck
No injuries were reported Sunday in a two-vehicle wreck on US 79 west of the FM 1786 Alcoa turnoff.
Trooper Broderick Sims listed the drivers as Crispin Gonzales, 31, of Taylor, and 30-year-old Edward Biehle of Rockdale.
Sims said both vehicles were driven from the accident scene and termed damages “minor.” Full Story
Little Joe ‘returning’ to Cameron

MILANO—Trav is Yoakum opened the 2012 Exes Reunion by welcoming everyone and encouraging participation in the auctions on Saturday at the Milano Civic Center. He informed the group of the number and titles of scholarships given in May and the Mini Scholarships given this fall. Mobile pet clinic set Oct. 4th in Rockdale
The Rockdale Emancipet mobile clinics have scheduled their next visit to Rockdale for Thursday, Oct. 4.
Future clinics are planned for the first Thursdays of each month, according Kim Brown, spokesperson. Full Story
