Busy time for Gause athletes this week

Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. the Gause Junior High football team will play at Brazos Christian in Bryan. The GJH volleyball teams will be in a tournament in Westphalia on Saturday. Also the Gause Soccer League starts play here in Gause Saturday a round 8 a.m. L ots of activities that include our Gause youth. Try to attend one or more of these if you can. Next week soccer will be in Cameron then back to Gause on Oct. 6.

The Gause Junior High Booster Club is the sponsor for Junior High activities and the Gause Parents Club sponsored the soccer. There are many other people who participate in sponsoring these activities with these Gause ISD organizations. A big “thank you” goes to all who are a part for these school organizations.

On Saturday, Sept. 29 get your running or walking shoes ready for the Gause Sugar Loaf Fun Run. This is a Cross Country Run for our Cross Country team and all of you who wish to participate. Get more information by calling the school, 979-279-5891.

Thank you to First Star Bank for their generous contribution towards the purchase of our new scorers table in the school gym. Your support to our community is greatly appreciated.

Gause Community Improvement program met for their monthlymeetingonSept.10in the Gause Community Center. The Founders Day fund-raiser was reviewed and the organization had a great day, thanks to all who helped and came.

One topic of new business was to start plans for the CIP annual Christmas Program and dinner. Upcoming projects on the agenda are to paint the building and to get outside doors for three exits and one inside door.

T he next meeting will be Oct. 1atthecommunitycenter. If interested in working with this group for bettering our community please come to the meetings. There was a good number of Gause youth who attended the Milam County Shooting Sports first meeting of the new 4-H year on Sunday in Rockdale.

If there are other youth here in Gause interested in this 4-H project come join us for our monthly meeting on Oct. 2 in the Gause ISD cafeteria at 7 pm to find out more about this project, their next meeting date and other 4-H activities that our Gause 4-H club is involved in.

Milam County 4-H clubs are sponsoring an annual fund-raiser raffle with proceed going to help pay for county 4-H activities that member participate in throughouttheyear. Ifyouare interested in purchasing some of these tickets you may get in touch with a 4-H member or give me a call at 979-249-2472.

A large number of our club members participate in county, district and state events and this money will help pay for entry fees, etc.
