Ellison

LA GRANGE—Services for Henry Dean Ellison, 74, of La Grange were held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange. Burial was at Clear Creek City Cemetery.

Mr. Ellison died Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Seton Medical Center in Austin.

He was born in Riesel on Sept. 16, 1937, to Henry Baily Ellison and Annie Irene (Bell) Ellison.

He married Mamilyn McManus on June 26, 1959, in Rockdale and they moved to La Grange in 1978.

Mr. Ellison was a 1956 graduate of Rockdale High School.

Mr. Ellison was employed as an ER technician at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. He was also a shift supervisor for LCRA, a reserve officer for the La Grange Police Department and a paramedic for Fayette County EMS.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Lenton and Benton Speer.

Survivors are his wife, Mamilyn (McManus) Ellison; three sons, Russell Ellison and wife Mary of Antioch, California, Bruce Ellison and wife Sandra of La Grange, Bradley Ellison and wife Claudia of Houston; three sisters, Irene and Billie Speer, both of Marquez, Hartense Rogers and husband Leslie of Austin; a brother, Hugo Ellison and wife Pansy of Marquez; eight grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Aric, Austen, Hunter, Haley, Walker and Cordale Ellison; and four great-grandchildren, C.J., Vanessa, Hazel and Ryder; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
