So it wasn’t Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg, but it was close enough for an excited crowd at the second annual Central Texas Outdoor Expo Saturday as “reenactors’ staged a Civil War battle. Here, rebel troops led by (foreground) Ed Welch of Driftwood, followed by Jason Crow of Baston, charge the Union Army position. They’re members of Terry’s Texas Rangers, Company F, who faithfully recreate a famous Confederate force. There was much more at the Expo including a dance, barbecue cookoff, exhibits, contests and food. Story and more photos, page 1B.
