Jeter Jeter Memorial services for Danny Wayne Jeter Sr., 64, of Rockdale, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Phi l lips & Luckey Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Alcozer officiating. Mr. Jeter died suddenly on Thursday, Sept . 20, at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

He was born on March 25, 1947, in Tyler to Roderick and Joyce (Slaughter) Jeter.

Mr. Jeter has lived in Rockdale for the past 41 years.

He was a welding foreman with Union Pacif ic Railroad for 34 year and retired in June 2007.

He married Zelma Lopez on Oct. 11, 1968, in Winona.

Mr. Jeter attended John Tyler High School.

He enjoyed being in his garage, restoring old cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching old westerns and he never met a stranger.

Mr. Jeter was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Sanchez.

Survivors are his wife, Zelma Jeter of Rockdale; four sons, Danny Wayne Jeter Jr. and wife Brenda, Alan Jeter, David Jeter and wife Kim, all of Rockdale, Rodney Jeter and wife Megan of Round Rock; four daughters, Teresa McDaniel of Raleigh, Mississippi, Mira Yanez and husband Oscar of Point, Nicole Robertson and husband Scott, and Lisa Jeter, all of Rockdale; and two brothers, Maurice Sanchez and Tony Jeter, both of Tyler; also, 19 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
