How do you spend your time

Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That’s relativity.— Albert Einstein I believe what Mr. Einstein is saying is that time is not relevant but how you spend your time is. You should spend your time doing things that make you happy and bring you peace. We tend to forget that we have options in how we spend the time we have here on earth.

I hope that each one of you takes time this week doing at least one that that brings you happiness.

TRAIL SIGN DEDICATION—On Monday, Oct. 8 there will be a ceremony at Apache Pass at 10 a.m. for the unveiling of the first El Camino Real Trails sign. U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson and many other state representatives will be present and the public is invited to come join in this celebration.

FAIR TICKETS—The Rockdale Fair is fast approaching. If you need tickets, please let me know. I will put you in contact with a fair pageant contestant. We need to support these girls and make sure we buy our tickets from them because that is a requirement for them to compete. You can call me at 512-446-2030.

TRADE DAYS—The first annual El Camino Real Trade Days will be Oct. 27-28. This new event will highlight the El Camino Trails and will be a weekend full of unique vendors centered at Apache Pass and spreading out between Cameron, Rockdale and Thorndale.

Applications to be a vendor are now available at the Rockdale Chamber.
