ROCK NESS monster

Reporter/Mike Brown Reporter/Mike Brown Rockdale Ness, that is. If someone tells you they’ve sighted the Loch Ness Monster in a field off Oak Park Three, don’t break out the straitjackets and butterfly nets. It’s there! Mary “Brummett” Mantooth displays her “monster,” which has become a familiar sight in the subdivision just west of Rockdale. She and husband Wayne found the lovable creature on a trip to Houston and couldn’t resist bringing it home. “People have called it Puff the Magic Dragon, Nessie and a sea dragon,” she laughed. “More than one has done a u-turn at the end of the street and driven back by very slowly to be sure they really did see what they thought they saw. One dad brings his young children to see it almost every day.” Why put a sea monster in the middle of a field” “I always wanted a lake there,” Mantooth said. “This is probably as close as I’m going to get.”
