Students were ‘great’ at marker ceremony

Dear editor,

Monday, history was made in Milam County at Apache Pass during the El Camino Real sign dedication ceremony.

Wehada wonderfuldedication ceremony, great fall weather, informative speakers, and lots of folks and lots of school kids from throughout the county in attendance.

Speaking of the school kids, they exhibited such great manners, and were quiet and attentive during the ceremony, and ma ny adu lts commented on their exemplary behavior.

Our hats are off to them and educators who were in charge.

We are proud of the students for their understanding of the importance of history and what it means locally.

W e, t he l ittle o lder f olks, spend a lot of motions trying to pass down to our posterity the gift of history, and are excited by the younger generation’s desire to learn and participate.

A heartfelt “thank you” to all who attended the dedication ceremony and were part of this important historic event for Milam County, and to the ones who have worked so diligently to make this event a reality.

Milam County has made a lot of history in the past centuries, and we made more Monday.
