HIGHWAY BLOCKED—


Reporter/MIke Brown Reporter/MIke Brown A truck driver was take to Scott & White Hospital and most of US 77 was blocked for more than an hour Thursday when this 18-wheeler overturned north of Minerva. State Trooper Donald Delukie listed the driver as 32-year-old Jose Ramirez-Mata of Carrollton. Delukie said the truck veered off the driving surface after cresting a hill just south of the Y-intersection and overturned. He said Ramirez-Mata was wearing a seat belt. An AMR ambulance crew and the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department responded. Alternate northbound and southbound traffic was re-routed around the wreck on the highway’s western shoulder.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
