Judge race spending tops ballot

Candidates filing required reports

The district judge race between incumbent John Youngblood and challenger Hollis Lewis has chalked up the lion’s share of both contributions and expenditures in Milam County political races.

Not far behind is the prosecutor race between Kerry Spears and Bill Torrey.

Candidates are required to file periodic reports, listing their expenditures and contributions. The final one was due at 5 p.m. Monday and these totals reflect all candidates who filed a report by that deadline.

All Milam candidates except those in the district judge race file with Sherry Mueck, elections clerk in the County Clerk’s office.

The judicial candidates file with the Texas Ethics Commission. The reports are public record:
