Children Craft Day set at Baptist Church
Gause Baptist Church will sponsor a Children Craft Day on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Family Life Center. This is open to youth age three through 5th grade in school. The hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You need to call and register your child so that the leaders will know how may supplies and how much food for the noon meal that they will be needing. To do so please contact Patti Kornegay at 979-204-3219 as soon as possible.
A reminder that the Gause Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11 at the Gause Baptist Church Family Life Center. This is an annual community activity. The ladies are asked to bring a dessert. All other food is being taken care of by donations. If you would like to be of help in some way you may contact Wanda Coats at the store-979-279-3153.
Cold weather didn’t keep the Blakely family from get ting together for their annual outdoor reunion and barbecue Saturday. Around 65 family members and friends gathered on the old Blakely home-place here in Gause for some great fellowship and food. Although attendance was down slightly from usual, everyone reported having a great time visiting and reminiscing.
Ron Finch, one of the cousins from Nevada, estimated they probable burned about $1,000 worth of firewood in the campfire based on Nevada standards since the kind of trees and wood we have in Texas are so much more abundant than around Reno where he lives. Another great reason to live in Texas. Gause Community Improvement Program will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5 in the Gause Community Center.
Gause 4-H Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the Gause school cafeteria.
If you have a clean, slightly worn coat, jacket or blanket, all sizes, that you want to donate to the 4-H drive the club will need them by this meeting so that they can get them distributed to those who need them. Contact a 4-H member or you can call me at 979-279-2472.
Remember the makeup date for the fourth annual Gause Sugarloaf Fun Run/Walk is set for Saturday, Nov. 10, forming at 8 a.m. on the school parking lot.
Volleyball and cross country seasons are finished and boys and girls basketball games will begin here in Gause on Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. when they will play Coupland.
