Cowboy Reflections ribbon cutting this Saturday

By DARLEEN TUCKER
TACC Secretary

Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony during the grand opening of Cowboy Reflections Mercantile at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Join the TACC in welcoming this new business to the Thorndale community. The grand opening will begin on Friday, Nov. 9 and continue on through Saturday.

Stop by and see their beautiful showroom and see what they have to offer. Their unique selection of hand-made solid wood furniture is sold in their Thorndale business and they also sell to furniture dealers throughout Texas. Come and meet Steve and Tammy Dorsett at their store on US Highway 79 and help them celebrate the opening of their new business. I know you will enjoy browsing through their unusual “Hand built in Texas by Texans” furniture and home decorating accessories.

CHRISTMAS LOT LIGHTING— Another event to note on your calendar is the upcoming annual Thorndale Christmas Lot Lighting ceremony. It has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25. Join the TACC for Christmas carols and the lighting of the displays and the tree to kick off the holiday season in Thorndale.

Any group can join in the fun of sending holiday cheer to the community and to drivers on Highway 79. The Christmas Lot is located between Mercedes Beans and the Thorndale Post Office. Call Marilyn Johnson at 512-862-4419 or Angie Becker at 512-898-2257 for more information. Get your group together and develop a Christmas wish display. The more the merrier.

SANTA, PARADE—And don’t forget the Thorndale Christmas Parade which will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Deana Caffey at 512-898-5189 and Donna Harris at 512-898-2427 are the ladies to call for information regarding the parade.

Start now to get your group or club together to plan an entry in the parade. Contact Deana or Donna for entry forms. There will also be a drawing for hams, a silent auction and an arts and crafts fair going on all during the day. Please contact Susan Drabek at 512-269-8796 for a booth at the arts and crafts fair and Darleen Tucker at 512-898-2727 for donations to the silent auction.

Both businesses and individuals can donate items to the silent auction. Kati Watson will contact businesses to sponsor a ham.

In addition, Santa photos will be taken in the TACC building before and after the parade. Bring your kids to meet Santa and to share their Christmas list with him.

MEMBERSHIP—The TACC would also like to remind everyone that it is time for membership letters to be in your mailbox for the 2013 yearly dues. Watch your mail for these reminders. Your dues help promote the business climate in Thorndale and help us sponsor family-friendly events during the year, as well as fund scholarships for local students.

The Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes new members all year long. If you want to join, please contact Brian Morton at 512-658-5378 or Darleen Tucker at 512-898-2727.
