OUT OF THE PAST (AND OUT OF THE FOG)....

Reporter/Mike Brown Reporter/Mike Brown It just seemed appropriate, 70 trail riders and 15 wagons rolling out of the fog from historic Apache Pass Saturday morning in the largest mounted event from the weekend’s Texas Trail Riders Convention. Apache Pass was the host site for the event which drew about 150 participants, according to spokesperson Sue Eubanks. Saturday’s big trail ride clip-clopped from the historic crossing site on the San Gabriel River down several county roads to FM 486 and then on to Thorndale where the trail riders paraded through the downtown area. The weekend’s events also included a smaller trail ride Sunday, dances and meals. This marks the second year for Apache Pass to host the convention.
