VETERANS DAY—IT’S A BIG DEAL IN ROCKDALE!

The estimated 1,750 in attendance for a mammoth Veterans Day observance at Tiger Field on Monday—including every student in the Rockdale ISD’s four campuses—certainly didn’t. Almost 50 honored veterans were seated on the track (center, right) , elementary students and the RHS Big Blue Band on the field, high school, junior-high intermediate students and guests in the home stands and many more stood around the fences. The tribute featured a speech by young War on Terror veteran Steven Wesolowski. music by RISD students—Karen Laughlin directs elementary students above—and more. Iraqi War veteran Art Free was master of ceremonies. See page 6A.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
