Veteran program for employment training

AUSTIN—The State of Texas is putting one-million-dollars into a program that will help train returning veterans.

Texas Workforce Commission officials announced last week that “Skills for Veterans” will provide post 9-11 veterans with training that employers have identified is necessary for business growth.

Each eligible veteran new hire will get about 15-hundred-dollars for tuition and fees at area colleges or a state training program.

Dozens of “Hiring Red, White and You” job fairs are also being held across the state and veterans can get more information at TexasWorkforce.org.
