Gause annual CIP Christmas program, meal set December 8

School was dismissed on Tuesday for the Thanksgiving holidays and will resume on Monday, Nov 26. I hope you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Our sincere Sympathy to Joe Hobbs and his family at the death of his mother, Margaret Blakely Evans. Funeral services were held in Antlers, Oklahoma on Monday.

Gause Junior High girls and boys basketball teams both won their games last week against Coupland. Their next games will be here in Gause on Nov. 29 against Westphalia beginning with the girls game at 5 p.m.

Wishing a speedy get well for Lois Wilkins as she suffered a broken arm in a fall last week. Does this mean you get out of cooking for the holidays? Not worth it. I know from experience that a broken bone is no fun. Now with Thanksgiving holiday over, time to start thinking about community Christmas activities. The first being the Gause Community Improvement Program (CIP) annual Christmas program and luncheon to be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Gause Community Center beginning at 11 a.m.

Ladies are asked to bring salads and/or a dessert to go with soups, stews and chili that members will be furnishing.

Let me know how you and your family celebrated Thanksgiving so I can have some news next week.

Some of the guys in our family took a Saturday from deer hunting and went duck hunting. They did kill some ducks. I don’t think I have eaten duck and do I want to? Just asking.
