Milano High School’s Theatre Company will present a one-time showing of “A Tuna Christmas” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28. Curtain will go up at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, with students and senior citizens paying just $3 each. There will also be a silent auction.

If you read this in time, be sure to catch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade on NBC. Six Milano High School students are performing in the parade as members of the Varsity Cheer/Spirit team. Word is they are the opening performance and also get to escort in a special guest at the end of the parade. Milano students are Mary Allyson Steinbecker, Brianna Roth, Hayleigh Lagrone, Shelbi Davenport, Miranda Oldham and Keely Lagrone. Dates and times have been announced for the annual City of Milano Christmas Parade and Christmas decoration contest. The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, from the elementary/football field parking lot, traveling downtown and back to the Milano Civic Center. This year’s theme is “Join Us on the Christmas Express.” A traditional Christmas meal will be served following parade at the civic center. More information on the parade as the date approaches.

Parade line up will start at 9:30 a.m. Plaques and cash prizes will be awarded for first through third places in each division. First place winners will receive $50, second $25 and third $15. The top overall parade winning entry will receive $100.

Entry divisions are small animals, small motorized/battery operated, vehicles/tractors, floats, horses/wagons and bicycles/walkers.

Judging for the annual Christmas decorations contest around town has been set for Saturday, Dec. 15. Be sure to have your lights on at dark to be judged.

Don’t forget that the Milano ISD PATCH Club is still collecting “Box Tops For Education.” There are several containers around town where you can drop off the box tops, including the post office, water department and school offices. The box tops are sent in and the school earns free money.
