WHAT A DIFFERENCE—
Cutting the grass at Fair Park this November for city employees, including Basilio Salazar above, is a world away from November, 2011. That fall came at the end of a record summer of drought and 100-degree heat and left little to mow under the park’s giant oak trees. This year’s spring and summer was considerably milder, and wetter, taking a toll so far on fall foliage but leaving the park’s grass lush and green. More rain, and a turn to more fall-like weather is in the forecast for Thanksgiving weekend.
