Boil water notice lifted

Boil water notice lifted

The boil water notice issued Friday by the City of Rockdale was lifted Sunday.

Due to damage to a six inch water line in the southeast part of the city, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) on Friday evening had required the City of Rockdale to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.

Boil water notices are routinely issued after such breaks and are lifted after water tests showing no contamination are received by municipalities from the TCEQ.

Rockdale received the "all clear" notice on Sunday.
