Sheriff’s office probes theft of Alcoa trailer

The Milam County Sheriff’s Department is probing the theft of a trailer containing Alcoa water testing equipment valued at over $30,000.

Deputy Sheriff John Mendoza said the 20-foot Wells Fargo trailer contained a Morgan building, painted in Alcoa blue and was take from the aluminum company’s property between Nov. 22 and last Wednesday (Nov. 28).

Mendoza said the trailer had a 2-5.8-inch commercial ball hitch.

FOUR-WHEELERS—Mendoza said the department is also investigating the theft of two four wheelers from a deer lease off County Road 234.

They are a 2007 green Yamaha Grizzly 700, with a torn seat and front gun rack, and a red 2004 Honda Rancher.

“Both items were taken between Saturday night and Monday morning,” he said.

A reward of up $1,000 may be paid for information received from the public.
