Ag Boosters announce November winners

THORNDALE—The Thorndale 4-H/FFA Booster Club announced the winners for October in their monthly gun chance drawing, according to Rebecca Garcia, spokesperson.

Winners were Henry Lillard, Kelly Rieger, Casey Fuessel and Gary Oslick.

“ The Thorndale 4-H/FFA Booster Club would like to thank the community for always supporting our youth,” said Garcia.

Deadline extended for Master Gardener class

CAMERON—The deadline for registering for the 2013 Master Gardener class sponsored by the Texas AgriLife Extension Office and the Little River Basin Master Gardener Association has been extended. The class is an excellent opportunity for those wanting to learn more about gardening or those wanting to become a certified Master Gardener, and would make a terrific Christmas gift.

Classes wi ll be held on Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cameron Chamber of Commerce, from Jan. 9 through May 8.

The classes cover many topics, including lawn care, trees and shrubs, disease and weed management, soils, plant nutrition, vegetable and herb gardening, home fruit production, water conservation, plant propagation, flowers and Earth Kind. There are no tests involved in the program. The fee for the class is $150, which includes everything you will need for the class, and a reference manual you will get to keep.
