Thanks to sponsors, all who helped Oney Run

Dear editor,

Once again that rumble everyone heard all day long Saturday wasn’t just motorcycles, it was big hearts in the seventh annual Buddy Oney Toy Run.

We had 115 bikes with 138 riders and five cages full of people who helped two great causes, by far our biggest yet.

This run is held annually in memory of the late Buddy Oney and this year we honored Joel New, biker, brother, son, uncle, husband, father and friend and the son-in-law of Buddy Oney.

Joel had the same caring attitude as Buddy. This year’s run raised $7,000 in donations and toys and Bad To The Bone Riders, the Buddy Oney Toy Run Commit tee, along with Oney and New family members presented $3,500 each to Milam County Child Protective Services and Christmas Roundup.

Our toy run is starting to bring the crowd in once again as does the MARC Run in April.

Thanks to all the sponsors Bob’s Steakhouse in Cameron, Cliff’s Tavern in Rockdale, Cyndi’s Hawg Hang Out in Hogg, Nat’s in Milano, The Ranch in Rockdale, The Rockdale Reporter,

KRXT, Brady’s Pest Control, Brookshire Brothers of Rockdale, Rockdale Masonic Lodge 414 and Bad To The Bone Riders.

We don’t want to leave anyone out that helped make this happen so thank you everyone who helped in any way.

This was truly another great community effort that will truly show in some very special children’s eyes this Christmas morning.

Thanks again and God bless.
