That’s how much 138 riders, on 115 bikes, and five ‘cages’ raised Saturday for two organizations in the seventh annual Buddy Oney Toy Run. Milam County Child Protective Services and Christmas Roundup were each presented checks for $3,500 after the event, which began and ended at The Ranch, according to Charles Starr, organizer. Milano Christmas parade, free meal set Saturday
The annual City of Milano Christmas parade and free meal will take place Saturday in the town’s downtown area.
The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, from the elementary/football field parking lot, traveling downtown and back to the Milano Civic Center. Full Story

Dowdy, Carroll, Schlesinger picked for honor
GATESVILLE — How hard is it to be inducted into a country music hall of fame?
Ask three area musicians who recently traveled to the Gatesville City Auditorium to be honored.
Rhythm guitarist Bill Dowdy of Lexington, steel guitarist Roy Carroll of Round Rock and fiddler Paul Schlesinger of Taylor agree that it didn’t take too much arm-twisting to accept the honor. Full Story
