Rockdale’s Le’Raven Clark has been named second team Freshman All-America by Scout.com, powered by Fox Sports.

Clark, a 6-foot-6, 303 pound redshirt freshman, becomes the first-ever offensive lineman at Texas Tech to receive Freshman All-America honors.

He was also named to All-Big 12 team as an honorable mention selection, as well as the Big 12 all-freshman squad.

Clark has been a mainstay on the Red Raiders offensive line this season while starting all 12 games at right guard.

Clark has helped pave the way for the Tech running game which has produced 1,674 rushing yards this season—Tech’s most rushing yards in a regular season since 1998 (2,219).

In addition, Texas Tech finished the regular season with at least one rushing touchdown in eight consecutive games.

Texas Tech is preparing for t heir Dec. 28 bowl game in Houston, where the Red Raiders will face the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Meineke Car Care Bowl under interim coach Chris Thomsen.
