The win was a timely morale boost as the Lady Eagles went just 1-3 at their tournament over the weekend.

Against Granger, the Lady Eagles took a 25-13 into halftime and didn’t look back.

Junior Myka Morehead led Milano (4-9) scorers with a 11 points and eight rebound night.

Senior Raighley Shaw had a double-double on the night with 10 points and 12 boards.

Milano came away with just one win from the Franklin tournament they participated in over the weekend.

It was a tough opening tournament game on Thursday as the Lady Eagles fell to host and Class 2A No. 16 Franklin 89-23.

Shaw led the way with 10 points for Milano and seven rebounds.

On Friday morning, the Lady Eagles faced Leon and fell 48-29. Shaw was again the team’s top scorer with eight points.

Milano was able to collect themselves and pull out their lone tourney win later on Friday to defeat Oakridge 42-19.

The team was 56 percent from the free throw line against Oakridge, making nine of 16 from the charity stripe.

Shaw had 16 points, three rebounds and three assists in the victory. Sophomore Halle McManess added 10 points.

On Saturday, the Lady Eagles fell to Buffalo 40-35 in their final tournament game. Morehead put up 16 points and four rebounds in the match.

The Lady Eagles will play at Normangee on Friday night and have an open date on Tuesday. Normangee will come to Milano on Dec. 21 before schools release for the Christmas holidays.
