County selects Wells Precinct 3 constable
Rockdale resident Carol Wells was named the new Precinct 3 constable last Wednesday in a unanimous vote of county commissioners.
Wells, who was sworn in Tuesday (see page 3A) technically replaces Jay Willingham, w ho de fe ate d her, and one other candidate, in the May 29 Republican Primary.

Milam County’s new prosecutor took office Tuesday and is immed iately faced with getting up to speed on two murder trials.
Bill Torrey, who replaced three-term prosecutor Kerry Spears Jan. 1, will spend a great deal of his early weeks in office familiarizing himself with the county’s case against Brandon Charles Cotton and Tanner Aaron Baker. Full Story
