Holiday water line break affects 60 percent of junior-high building
Students at Rockdale Junior- High School returned from the annual winter break on schedule Monday morning and that represents something of a Christmas time miracle.
In less than two weeks a Rockdale construction company, and a San Antonio-based catastrophe management firm, got RJH back in functioning order after a flood went through about 60 percent of the building. Full Story
Chamber sets annual meeting for Thursday
The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting at 12-noon Thurasday in the New Salem Clubhouse at Fair Park.
Denise Brock, Chamber secretary said all Chamber members are invited to attend.

Chamber tourism office approved on 3-2 council vote
City distributes hotel-motel tax funding
On a 3-2 split vote Monday, with Mayor Larry Jones casting the deciding vote, the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce received some of the funds it used to administer, allowing the organization to keep its “rock house” headquar ters open regular hours as a visitor center.
Last year the Chamber surrendered administration of the city’s hotel-motel tax. Full Story

Such is the Rockdale Lady Tigers annual mantra heading into district play and they couldn’t have picked a better way to prove it than to bust out of the scoring doldrums.
In the District 18-3A opener, the Lady Tigers posted a season-high scoring total in a 66-46 trampling of Taylor Friday in the new Duck Gymnasium. Full Story
