JUDGE’S COMMENTS

‘State of the County’ report now available online
David Barkemeyer
Milam County Judge

A s we launch the new year, I’ve put together a presentation called “The State of the County” which includes some highlights of 2012 along with a look at the challenges facing us in 2013.

Michael Brown, our Information Technology Manager has assisted me in assembling this short video along with pictures and supporting information of my new year’s message to you, the citizens of Milam County.

It can be viewed on our Milam County web site at www.milamcounty.net.

This presentation summarizes 2012’s year end budget performance, hits some of this past year’s highlights, reviews next year’s budget and revenue sources, points out the challenges facing the county in 2013, and concludes with an important proposal that we want you to consider in the months ahead.

Public meetings such as the Community Communication sessions that I held around the county back in August/September do not seem to be all that popular a way of getting the county message out, so I thought I’d try a short video on the internet to get you up-to-date on county matters along with regular updates in this column.

So look up this “State of the Also I’ll be available by invitation to present the program and answer questions at clubs and other venues in the community over the next few weeks. dbarkemeyer@milamcounty.net
