AT&T no help in getting phone problems solved

Dear editor,

Thank you for getting the word out about the Rockdale-area AT&T towers being out of service.

I have personally been repeatedly bat t ling with AT& T to arrive at a solution for at least four weeks.

Our service began having problems sometime around the Thanksgiving holidays. I have been told by some other AT&T customers that they were having the same problem and that AT&T was aware and working on it.

I decided to call it in myself after a couple of weeks of no service. They have refunded our bill and given us several resolution dates.

Now our bill has been recycled again and taken the refunded charges back. They have offered a micro cell mini-tower which should provide service in our home at a discounted price.

After I told them I did not want to pay one penny more to receive the service that I have been paying for and receiving for the last nine years, they of fered to try and get it for me free, just pay shipping and handling.

Is there a monthly charge for this. They say “no,” but I have heard “ yes.” We turned that down.

AT&T will not release us from contract with no penalty. Who can we write to?

We have home phone and Internet with AT&T and are so angry about this we are ready to give it all up.

I can understand the early cancellation fee, if it were my choice, which it is not.

They have stopped providing the service which we contracted for.

Can you give us any direction in getting some assistance with this dilemma?

Thank you.
