Milano Junior High one-act play to compete, perform

Milano Junior High’s oneact play will perform “Curious Savage” at UIL competition at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at Temple College. Then on Thursday, Jan. 17, the group will hold a public performance at the MHS cafetorium starting at 7 p.m.

Admission wi ll be $3 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. There will also be a silent auction at the event.

Milano High School’s National Honor Society will conduct a blood drive on Monday Jan. 28. It will be held in the home economics room from noon to 5 p.m. If you are interested in donating, get in touch with Coach John Hughes at the high school, 512-455-9333.

Members of the Milano Volunteer Fire Department have began their annual fund-raiser. Tickets can be purchased from any MVFD member. They are one for $5 or six for $25.

Prizes include: Henry Golden Boy 22 caliber LR, Taurus Public Defender .45-410, Remington 700 .270, Marlin 336w 30-30, Remington 870 shotgun, H and R Pardner shotgun, Mossberg 817 17 HMR, Garmin Nuvi 2350 GPS, Leatherman Surge Multitool and $75 Academy gift card.

Drawings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 during the MVFD’s annual chili supper at the Milano Civic Center.

All prizes received in gif t cards. Winners pay sales tax and need not be present to win.

Thank you all so much for the thoughts and prayers during my recent surgery. I am still moving a bit slow, but on the mend.
