Luetge

Graveside funeral services for Jackie Charlene Luetge, 77, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation will be prior to the services, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Luetge died Saturday, Jan. 5, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

She was born Nov. 2, 1935, in Mexia to Bruce B. Brodnax and Lillian (Wallace) Brodnax.

She married Louie Luetge Jr. on Aug. 15, 1954, at First Christian Church in Rockdale.

Mrs. Luetge was a housewife and co-owner of Four Corner Grocery, located at the corner of Ackerman and San Andres Streets in Rockdale. She later worked at Walmart after the death of her husband.

Mrs. Luetge was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as caring for her yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 20, 1988; her parents; and three brothers, Bill Brodnax, Lyman Brodnax and Bruce Brodnax III.

Survivors are two daughters, Rita Phillips and husband Glynn and Jackie Roderick, all of Rockdale; her grandchildren, Daniel Phillips, Danielle Ramos and husband Tony and Denton Phillips, all of Rockdale, Crystal Bell and husband Luke of Devore, California, Chancey Wells and husband Terry of Liberty Hill; a brother, Jeff Hughes and Debra of Odessa; the father of two of her grandchildren, Rod Roderick of Rockdale; a sister-in-law, Della Coleman and husband Charley of Rockdale; and a brother-in-law, Clyde Luetge and wife Shirley of Rockdale; also, 11 great-grandchildren.
