The final charge from an Oct. 3 chase through southwest Milam County after a computer theft from Rockdale’s Walmart was filed during the past week.
Tyler Phillips, 17, of Milano, was chargd with possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram) and bond surrenders on original charges of theft of property ($500 to $1,500) and evading arrest or detention.
He was booked into the Milam County Jail and remains there in lieu of $26,000 bond.
Lt. J. D. Newlin of the Rockdale Police Department said the charge reflects lab work on a substance found during the Oct. 3 incident in which four men were eventually arrested.
A vehicle being pursued by numerous law enforcement agencies, including Rockdale police and the Milam County Sheriff’s Department, spun out at the FM 487/FM 1600 intersection minutes after police received a report four white males had left the Rockdale discount store without paying for a computer and other electronics equipment.
Police Chief Thomas Harris spotted a vehicle matching the description on FM 908 but said the driver sped up and the chase began.
Logan Dellerman, 23, identified as the driver, and 25-year-old Diamond Ramos were arrested at the scene.
Tyler Phillips was picked up the next morning hiding in a residence on East Cameron Avenue (US 79), according to police.
The fourth was identified as 24-year-old Benjamin Feitl. He was arrested five days later at a Rockdale location.
