Junior high teams host tournament this week

A reminder that the Gause Junior High Bears and Lady Bears Basketball teams will host a tournament this week beginning Thursday running through Saturday. The Thursday and Friday games will begin at 2 p.m. and the Saturday games at 9 a.m. Make plans to attend.

The Gause Athletic Booster Club will have a concession stand so you can get your meals and snacks there and not have to miss any games.

Janet and Kenneth Pilkey are the parents of a daughter, Sierra Grace, born in the College Station Hospital on Jan. 16. She weighed seven pounds one ounce and was 19.5 inches in length. She is welcomed by brother Cinch and sister Ariel. Paternal grandmother is Jo Ann Pilkey and paternal great grandparents are Joy and Wil- lard Kornegay. Our sincere sympathy to Becky Ferrara and family at the loss of her mother, Joy Davis. Funeral services were held in Hearne on Wednesday.

Donnie and Maxine McBee visited in the Dallas area this weekend with her sister-in-law.

On Jan. 17, Gause ISD students learned more about some areas of science when the Texas A& M Road Show was at the school to make a presentation to them.

Trisha and Gary Shaw have been busy going to see grandchildren, Brooklyn and Dillon Bankston playing basketball in the Thorndale School.

Oh, what we do for these grandchildren but isn’t it fun. And like Trisha and Gary say that if we didn’t go we would be setting home wondering how they were playing.
