Milano NHS group sets Monday blood drive

Mi lano High School’s National Honor Society will host a blood drive on Monday Jan. 28. It will be held in the home economics room from noon to 5 p.m. If you are interested in donating, get in touch with Coach John Hughes at the high school, 512- 455-9333.

The Milano Junction Country Jamboree will be held Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Milano Civic Center. Music will start at 7 p.m. The event is beginning its 51st year and is still going strong.

The annual Milano Volunteer Fire Department chili supper is set for Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Milano Civic Center/Fire Station. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. until around 6 p.m. Costs are $7 for adults and $3 for children 11 and under. Meal will include chili, crackers, dessert and drink.

There will be musical enter- tainment, including fiddler player Paul Schlesinger, beginning around 5 p.m. Live and silent auctions will also be included in the evening.

Member s of the MVFD have also begun their raf f le fund-raiser. Tickets can be purchased from any MVFD member. They are one for $5 each or six for $25.

Prizes include: Henry Golden Boy 22 caliber LR, Taurus Public Defender .45-410, Remington 700 .270, Marlin 336w 30-30, Remington 870 shotgun, H and R Pardner shotgun, Mossberg 817 17 HMR, Garmin Nuvi 2350 GPS, Leatherman Surge Multitool and $75 Academy gift card.

Drawings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 during the MVFD’s annual chili supper at the Milano Civic Center.

All prizes received in gif t cards. Winners pay sales tax and need not be present to win.
