Gause ISD, TDC buses in collision

There were no injuries but a Tuesday morning collision on US 79 near Gause drew a ton of law enforcement personnel when a Gause school bus was in collision with a Texas Department of Corrections prisoner transport bus.

Trooper Ernest DelBosque said the collision occurred at 7:05 a.m. at the intersection of US 79 and County Road Loop 348 west of Gause.

He said the Gause ISD school bus, on its regular rounds with two students, was driven by Jacob Dent, 26, of Gause.

Driver of the TDC transport, with 11 prisoners on board, was listed as Jacklyn Wischnewsky, 55, of Huntsville.

“Neither the drivers, the children, nor the prisoners were injured,” DelBosque said.

DelBosque said the school bus was in the process of turning left and the TDC bus was passing when the collision occurred.

The Milano Volunteer Fire Department was called to the accident scene.
