Photo courtesy Tanglewood VFD Photo courtesy Tanglewood VFD DRY AGAIN—January started out wet but is trending dry again in recent weeks and area volunteer fire departments have been answering grass fire calls. On Saturday, the Tanglewood VFD responded to a call on Lee County Road 418 at the Lee-Milam county line including about two acres. Assistant Chief Guy Hall said a controlled burn was then left unattended. The Rockdale VFD answered a grass fire call at 3:40 p.m. the same day, responding to Milam County Road 383. At 7:19 p.m. Jan. 22 the RVFD answered a call to a burning tree on Spruce Street.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
