Rockdale Noon Lions to hold final soup supper Thursday

Rockdale Noon Lions Club is holding their final “soup supper” this Thursday, according to Gloria Thrasher, spokesperson.

The supper will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. at New Salem HD Clubhouse at Fair Park.

The Thursday, Jan. 31, soup choices will include homemade chicken and dumplings, Coach Miller’s Gumbo and a third “surprise” choice.

Desserts will be a choice of sinful delight cake, caramel apple spice cake or pineapple cake.

Fresh rolls or cornbread and tea are also included.

Cost is $5 per ticket. The supper includes soup, bread, dessert and drink (dine-in or take-out).

“People can also bring two non-perishable food items and get $1 off the price of their ticket,” Thrasher said.

All proceeds will go to the Rockdale Noon Lions Eyesight Program, supporting the children in the Rockdale area.

The club’s Mardi Gras Pancake Supper is planned for Tuesday, Feb. 12, also at New Salem HD Clubhouse.
